Pocatello visit, garden update, and Garz-Talbot visit

We've been pretty busy the last few weekends. Our friends Taylor and Athena were in Pocatello on the 24th, so Dustin and I drove up to hang out with them and Dustin's parents. My favorite beauty gal, Kelli came in on her day off so that I could get a haircut and pedicure while I was in town. Seriously love that girl! We went to a BBQ at Athena's parents' house on Saturday and left with our bellies so full of yummy food that we couldn't see straight. Athena's mom is a great cook! Dustin and his parents also managed to fit some golf in both days.

My garden has been growing and growing. I was happy to see that the raspberry start we got from our friends Jessie and Trevor sprout some new leaves, since it had been looking a little sad since I'd transplanted it. I'm also trying my hand at growing fingerling potatoes, and they seem to be doing pretty well so far!

Happy raspberry.

The tomatoes and peppers aren't taking up their cages yet, but they're working on it!

New chair cushions and an umbrella have made this my favorite after-work spot. Sophie thinks it's too hot, so she stays inside and watches me through the sliding glass door.

My brother-in-law Jeremy and his kiddos Tate and Camille were in Idaho for part of their summer break, so this past weekend they drove down to spend some time with us. Brit flew down as well to join us. I picked Britni up from the airport early Saturday morning and we went to the farmer's market before meeting up with Dustin for some breakfast at the Park Cafe. Brit's friend Megan and her husband Mike were in Park City for a marathon, so Brit watched Ben for a little bit. When Jeremy and the kids got into town that afternoon, we took the dogs for a nice long walk and a swim at Parley's. Megan and Mike met up with us for dinner that night and we made plans for the zoo the next day.

Britni brought me a huge tupperware of fresh blueberries, so I got up early Sunday morning to make some blueberry muffins (recipe here). After we polished off the entire pan, we picked up my cousin Mishael and headed out for the zoo. Megan, Mike and Ben met us there. We hoped that the animals would be fairly active in the morning, but it was still pretty warm. The leopard and grizzly bears put on a good show, but the lions, snow leopard and polar bear were less cooperative.

After the zoo, we picked the dogs up and went to the park for a picnic lunch and walk. After that we put our swimsuits on and went to play in the splash pad at the Gateway Mall. On our way home, we picked up some take-out from the Bayou Cajun restaurant.

Britni and I have been managing to see each other once a month since April, so we're trying to see if we can keep it up throughout the summer!

Brit, Dustin, and Camille are 'helping' Sophie shed her winter coat, post-bath.

At 6 months old, Dodger is bigger than Kieko now!

The leopard was very active in the morning

The doggies were happy to see us after our zoo adventure!

Britni brought me blueberries and cherries from Oregon. They got flagged at security and had to undergo a pat-down, but luckily for me, they made it through!
