Auntie/niece weekend

This weekend I spent with my niece Juniper. I headed up to Ashton on Friday after work and got to experience the Ashton farmer's market and live music at my aunt Tawyna's place, the Royal Cafe, which was all a lot of fun. Saturday morning Juniper and I drove to Idaho Falls to check out the Tautphaus Park Zoo. Juniper's favorite was the zebras; mine was the tamarins.

After the zoo, we went back to Pocatello where we took Sophie on a walk to the park. Juniper even braved a tumble to the ground when Sophie took off after a squirrel while she was holding the leash. All of the animals were so curious of her and wouldn't leave her alone, which was interesting, since she is quite afraid of animals. She was so surprised to discover that not all cats are mean like her grandma's cat. We also went up and played in the hot tub at Randy and Teresa's and visited with Teresa's long-time friend Cheri and her grandson Ethan.

Sunday was very gloomy, so our plans for the swimming pool were thwarted. We drew on the sidewalk with chalk, made a raspberry peach pie, and watched Despicable Me instead.
