Snowshoeing

Sunday we decided to take advantage of the snowy weather and break out our snowshoes for the year. The place we picked didn't quite have enough snow for snowshoeing purposes (we just walked in our boots) but the dogs loved it all the same.

Sophie even got a pretty new coat to keep the snow from soaking her through. She liked it well enough while she was out and about, but refused to put it back on for a photo-op when we got home. There was a lot of rolling over and flailing legs, and when I finally wrestled her into it, she looked so miserable and wouldn't cooperate with her usual photogenic poses, so there are no photos yet. We also bought some booties (she gets a lot of snow build-up on her feet), but I didn't realize that I had gotten the wrong size until we were on our way to the trail. Instead, she had to do her usual sit-down-and-chew-on-the-snowballs routine multiple times on the walk.

Anyway, the walk was a lot of fun and the dogs got to run around and eat snow. Hopefully our next snowshoeing adventure won't be too long and I'll get pictures of the actual 'shoeing'. Until then, here are a few post-walk pics:

Sophie snuggling up with her Auntie Britni (Note all the snowballs stuck in her fur). She was angry because her daddy spun lots of cookies in the parking lot and threw her off balance.

Dustin's amazing hat hair. He's also grinning because he was having fun driving in the snow.

Kieko keeping an eye out for chase-worthy cars while in the back of the Subaru

Sophie gnawing at the snow stuck in her footpads.
